Parks and Monuments
I have a strong interest in documenting the kinds of marks we as a culture make on the landscape. A particular curiosity is the relationship between land use and preservation in our National Parks and Monuments, primarily in the western United States. These areas have been set aside or preserved for the enjoyment of others, but at the same time have been marked or altered to accommodate tourists.

My interest initially was the relationship between man-made marks and the natural landscape, void of tourists. Eventually people started showing up in the photographs, from those gazing at the natural wonder in front of them, to others documenting/recording their park experiences for personal family histories.
