Bidean nam Bian (peak of the mountains) is a mountain range on the southern side of Glen Coe. There are at least 8 Munros in this range well known to hikers and climbers of varying abilities. A Munro is a mountain in Scotland over 3000 feet high. According to the Scottish Mountaineering Club, there are 282 Munros in Scotland. The term was named after Scotsman Hugh T. Munro, who was the first Scot mountaineer to compile an extensive list of these peaks.
